FloorGem - Engineered Flooring
Floorgem provides professional floor installation for engineered flooring. This style of hardwood flooring has become increasingly popular over the years. The quality of these types of flooring has risen over time and they are more cost effective than installing natural wood flooring.
What is engineered flooring?
Engineered flooring is a quality of flooring somewhere between laminate flooring and natural hardwood flooring. It is constructed by gluing actual real, natural wood on top of a HDF, high density fiber layer.
This method of construction provides a less expensive alternative to all natural hardwood floors while providing a definite advantage in aesthetics over laminate. When you choose engineered hardwood flooring, you are looking at real actual wood on top.
Can my engineered flooring be sanded?
Absolutely! Engineered flooring has the ability to be sanded and refinished 1-3 times during its life. The number of times you are able to do this depends on the thickness of the engineered flooring. We strongly suggest you do not attempt to refinish your engineered flooring yourself. It is especially easy to gouge engineered flooring and expose the HDF layer. If this happens, it will look like plywood coming through.
Floorgem provides sanding and refinishing services for engineered flooring when it is time to restore them. Contact us at Floorgem today for a free quote on installing or refinishing engineered flooring. Call us or fill out our easy to use form to request a free quote.
